Senior Prize Giving......

As I walked through the hall doors it was really hot but it was amazing.

On Thursday I came to school around 6:30pm because the whole of the seniors had prize giving. We had to walk to our teacher or stand in year 7 line or year 8 line. Then we walked over to the hall and there were lot’s of people waiting to start the prize giving.

As time went pass we watch the first item I thought it was ok. Then it was time to dance for our prize giving dance. I liked all the items I thought it was all awesome. I had good fun at prize giving.....

My Best friends....

Hi my name is Senolita and I inrolled into Point England school. I have 9  friends and their names are
Mary-I, Alexandria, Serena, Jessica, Caroline, Oshania, Vanessa, Eleva and I. Sometimes where not friends but we just become friends again. They been nice to me ever since I’ve becomed there friends.

When I cry sometimes they help me up and tell me if I’m ok. I am so glad to have good friends that will be there for me, Mary-I would always make me laugh hard out. I am grateful to have good friends.......

My Furture Career......

My Furture Career....

When I’m older I want to be a famous singer and go on TV. I always sing in my room sometimes I even sing well I’m having breakfast. We play sing star in the louge and me and my cousin versed eachother. My mum would always suport me when I’m singing. I want to own my own company in town and have a big house for me and my family.

When I’m sixteen I want to work at Supre with my older cousin. I want to meet famous people when I singing up on stage. I want to go on Karaoke, the name of the place is Homai Te Pakipaki.

Netbook Reflection 2012

I was so excited to see my netbook this year. Because every hoilday I had to give Mrs Tele’a my netbook.

When I got my netbook for the first time it was a miracle. When they finishe placing the netbooks on our table. Mrs Burt said “when you finished pulling your netbook out, then we will turn it on.” We had to wait till Mrs Burt counted up to 3 then we can turn it on.” “1,2,3” as I turned on my netbook I was amazed because it just turned on and it was shiny.

First thing I went on was the internet it was really slow, but as the time goes by then the internet got even faster. I know why the internet went slow, because I kept useing (TLN).The teacher said “use the (Wairehe), because it goes faster.” So i moved my mouse up to the name (Wairehe) it was loading and loading, so I waited and waited for it to load.

Then it stopped loading and I clicked on Chrome internet and it was really fast and cool.

Term 4 Reflection 2012

This term our topic has been Toy Story. I have been learning about toys and how to make them. I really like this term because it is about toys and we can research out favourite toys and things that’s got to do with toys. One day we had to start on our favourite toy writing.

We  had to remember what toy we had when we were little. I had a big brown bear called Chumb chumb I also had a teddy bear girl called Kathy. I always used to take my toys where ever I went. This term has been a good term to me and I wish Toy Story was always the topic.

Mrs Lagitupu said that we have to make a toy for someone. I made a pillow, I know that a pillow is not a toy but I had to do something so you can play with it. I already started on my toy for my friend, my friends Mary-I and Caroline are doing a pillow as well. The start of this term is the best Topic ever.

Tamaki Tech

Hook: Yay! we finally left to go all the way to Tamaki College for tech.

Every Tuesday’s the year 7s go to tech at Tamaki college. When the first bell rings we have to get ready in the Street by the doors. Then two of the teachers will take us down to Tamaki College so we can go to our classes and get working.

As I was walking with all the year 7s all I could hear was yelling and shouting.
When we walked through the Tamaki gates we had to go to our classes and I was in electronics. I would always walk with Caroline and Alexandria to our electronic class. Then Mr Maholecha just kept talking and talking and it was time to go back to school...... But it was fun at tech....

Manaiakalani Film Fest

As I walked through the theatre doors I was so amazed because there was a huge screen.

On Wednesday the whole of Pt England School went to Hoyts in Sylvia Park for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. First we went to the bus outside our school. As I walked through the door I was so excited to watch the movies that was set for all of us.

I saw lot’s of schools sitting and waiting for everyone to get in and start the show. I went up to sit next to my friends on the second to last row, my class was in the other row but Mary-I and I went to sit with Room 22.

Finally this movie that I really liked came up. It was ‘One Direction’ by Tamaki College and Pt England. It was really funny and cool it was about they sang and they grew older and older then they turned old that was the part that was really funny.

Then there was another movie that was cool and it was the Test by Room 18 I thought there movie was funny and awesome. As the day went on it was time to go back to school
and that was the end of the day and that was my favourite movies....

Rainbow's end Log Flume

On Friday my mum, brother, cousin and I went to Rainbow’s end for my birthday.
My birthday was on Monday but we got it over and done with, so we don’t have to do it next week. Anyway we got ready to shoot off to rainbow’s end.
As we got there I saw only a little bit of cars out by the parking, so I thought it was just us.

But as soon as I walked through the entrence there were lot’s of people but the line’s by the rides were not that long. First we went on the Log Flume there were like five people in front of us. The log came down the slide. My brother, cousin and I went into the log and I was in the middle my cousin was at the back and my brother was at the front because he wanted to get wet.   

We went into a dark tunnell, my brother was moaning and moaning about the log because it was going really slow. There were three white boys in front of us and that is why we were going slow because we had to wait for the boys to go down already.
When I looked to my left I saw some elfs fishing but it was fake people.
I also saw a elf that was the king of the elf world, he was singing with a bird on top of his arm.

Finally we got to the part where we got to go down fast as. The people in front of us said “Bye Bye” then I waved to them, they were nearly got to were the slide was.
Then finally it was our turn to go down the slide I was really scared because I have’nt been on the log flume in ages.

We went down the flume and we all were screaming hard out then we got to the end we had to wait to get off and it was the next person’s turn to go on. Then we went to the next activity....

How To Make A Heart Pillow

How to make a Heart Pillow

You will need:
-2 Blankets
-Cottons: Pink and White
-Sissors
-Sewing Machine


Method:
Step 1: Lay the blanket on the floor
Step 2: Then you draw a square in the middle of the blanket
Step 3: When your finished cut on the line
Step 4: Then you get another blanket but different colour
Step 5: Cut in the middle but a shape of a heart
Step 6: Then you can hand sew or use a sewing machine
Step 7: Get the square and then you get it and sew in the heart
Step 8: Then you get filling to go inside the pillow
Step 9: You have to sew it into the the other blanket
Step 10: When your finish  you have to put all the fillings inside the pillow
Step 11: Then you can put any patterns on the pillow and now your finished.

My Favourite Toy

My favourite toy would have to be a big brown bear, because I’ve had him since I was really young, my auntie gave him to me.
It’s name is Chumb Chumb, when I go to bed I some times bring it to bed with me when ever I need something to cuddle.

When I woke up he was there right next to me.
He had a great big smile on his face and it made me happy to see that smile face. I would take him ever where with me.

As the years went by and finally my birthday came, my mum got me another bear but it had a red big heart on it.
I told my mum I already had a bear, but she didn’t care.

So I got my Chumb Chumb and he made a friend called Kathy the bear.
On a hot day Chumb Chumb and Kathy came to the park with my brother, mum and I.
I played with them on the slide and swings and even played with them on the grass.

After playing at the park with my teddy bears, we walked home.
But before I put my teddy bears away we had lunch in the kitchen.
As I was growing older my thought that we should get rid of your teddy bears now, I didn’t really want to get rid of it I think.

So I went took all my teddy bears and went to the trash black bag and put it in there.
My mum took and through them in the red bed so when the rubbish truck comes they can take the black bag.
I never saw those teddy bears ever again, but I still miss my Chumb Chumb and Kathy the bears and still do.  

Trip to the forest

One day some friends went out to the forest to camp. But it started here, their names are Kate, William and Elizabeth and they were all friends, they had meet in High School. William thought to his self we should go out in the forest and camp there for 1 night and thats all . So he opened his mouth and told Kate and Elizabeth what he was thinking. After telling them his plan they thought it was a great idea so Kate said “we should go today.”  So they went back to their houses and packed up to go on a awesome trip.

It was a really long trip but it was worth it. When they got there Elizabeth said “WOW! that looks amazing,” “ I know my dad used to take me here all the time when I was little” said William. They all hopped out at the same time and the wind blew through there faces. When they took a big look there were lot’s of beautyful trees in front of them.

They took there first step through the forest and it started raining so luckly they brought a colourful unbralla just in case it does rain so they used it. There were brushes birds flying in the rain, their bags were really heavy. But finally they got to the hut in the middle of no-where, so they went inside and it was really steaky in the hut. Kate had to sleep with Elizabeth because there were only 2 bedrooms in the hut and William had his own bedroom to his self. It was nearly night time and it was there first night staying in the hut and they only had sandwiches so they ate it for dinner.

As Kate was sleeping she heard a big noise coming from the front door and it sounded like some-one was banging on the door, but she didn’t care so she just made her self a coffee and drank it on the table. She was dosing off to sleep. The next day William got up and said “good morning every-one” but no-one was awake. He went into Kate and Elizabeth’s room he only saw Elizabeth in bed not Kate, then he walked into the kitchen she wasn’t in there either. But she was outside looking at the trees well having a coffee.

William went out and said “hey Kate, what are you doing out here it is really cold,” “just thinking how much fun I’ve had here in this lovely forest” said Kate. “Ohh OK then, well do you want to come inside and pack our staff so we can go soon” “OK I will be in soon” said Kate. When they got there staff together they put there staff inside the car and they saw a big spider creeping down the side door on the drivers side. When Kate took one look and screamed and ran inside the hut, William said “it is OK let’s just go home now.” As William was driving they all said “BYE forest.”

    My Holiday was about me and my Mum going to Tonga with my Mum’s friend and her daughter.
On the day we had to leave to go to the Airport we had to say goodbye to my family. I was so
excited to go to see my uncle but I new it would be so hot.
I said to my mum “I think we need to get to the airport now or we will be late for our flight.”

When we got to the airport we harried so they can send our bags to Tonga. We nearly mess our plane because we got there late and my auntie was waiting for us.
We said “BYE” to everyone that was at the airport and gave our passports to the guy that was standing next to the door to go wait in the waiting room.

Me my mum, Auntie and my little cousin was waiting for the plane to come back. My Mum
was taking photo’s of my cousin Shireen and I well we were playing with the cards.

Then we took photo’s well we were waiting to get on the plane, and then the people that was
at the disk told as to go to the gates to get in the plane.

Then we walked till we got on the plane and they had this think that you can play on at the back of the chairs. I was so excited because when you go up in the air you get this feeling that your flying.
After hours and hours we were in Tonga, when I stepped out of the plane it was really hot
in stead of cold air it was warm air. I saw my uncle sitting up on the roof were people wait
for their family to come out of the plane. We walked inside the airport and it was hot I was standing there really hot. It was night time already we were the last people to get out of the airport.

We drove home and there was little kids looking for pigs, you can see lot’s of pigs walking
on the road. My cousin she has a pig and a dog but her dog got ran over and her pig it in her
cage. We had to stop at lots of shops because we had to find food for the house. That was the end of my story.

What if I had superpowers?

What if I had superpowers...... If I had superpowers I will save the world.

If I had superpowers I will go around the world defeting people that is bad to others. I will also fly to places that is really far from my house. I have alot of superpowers and my favourite powers of all is lefting things. When I left things some time I go over board because it is really fun. My other favourite power is running really fast because when you have to be at a meeting and your running late you can run all the way there.

I saw my friend MaryI getting a hiding from this women and I went over and saved her.She had bruse all over her and I went to take the women to the cops and she was in gail. My friend MaryI said “thank you very much” I said “your welcome.” I went off and I was looking at the world in the sky and everthing looked fine so I went home and had a sleep for the next day.

The next day I went back up to the sky and looked again I saw some one steeling money. I flew down to the bank and the wind was blowing threw my face and it felt great and I closed my eyes for only 3 minutes. I finally opened my eyes and I crashed into a black plastic bags fall of rubbish. It hurt a little bit but I still picked my self up and went into the bank and I could’nt find him, I looked around I still could’nt see him so I left and gave up. I was really desapointed at myself for leaving and giving up.

I didn’t know what to do, I looked up then I looked down and I saw a cloud that said “it is alright you didn’t know he was gone” and I said “but I was supposed to get him before he ran away” and he said “you just need to be pround of what you did.” So on my way home I was pround of myself and so I had a happy ending.

What If I was a billionaire?

I will donate money to the people that can’t aford a house to live in. Then I will go and buy a big house for the whole of my family and I. After woods I’ll go and look at some cars and buy a shiney cool car. Go shopping for clothes at the mall. I will go and buy food and toys for the house Iwill be buying.

Go around the world with my mum, dad and my brother. I’ll buy my own banking company and hire people to work for me. I want to go to Hollywood to sing and try to become a singer. I want to travel up North to see my family that has recently passed away.

I wanna become a superstar and make more money for my family.

My weekend

Hook: I was waiting happly for my aunty and uncle inside. On a nice hot Saturday I woke up and I knew that my uncle Mohi and aunty Ashley and their kids were coming to Auckland.

I was so excited because I hav’nt seen them in ages, and my( papa but I also call him da for his nickname). he said “did you know that the All black and Australia is playing today” and I said “no, but I will watch it tonight.” As I walked up to my mum I said “when is uncle going to be here.” “I don’t know” saId my mum, so I waited and waited till they were here. I asked aunty Marcel if I can go Netball with her because when ever it is Saturday she goes Netball in Pakaranga. She said “Yep if you want” and I got ready and we went to netball. But first we had to go to my aunty Dolang’s house to pick her up. My aunty said “stay in the car, I wont be to long” I saw aunty Dolang come out and she said “HI” out loud. I said hi back and then my aunty Marcel, said “come on then I will be late for Netball” and so we drove all the way to Pakaranga.

When we got there I hopped out of the car and I saw piles and piles of rocks behind the car and my cousin Cassius and I walked on the hard bumpy rocks. I was getting saw legs, After that we went to the courts and I saw my cousin Tan playing with uncle Eru. Cassius and I asked if we can play with him and he said “yeah if you want” so we played lot’s of games. First we played donkey and I started throwing it to Tan then Tan threw it to Cassius and he dropped it on the ground then he got a D. Our next game was playing Ball Tiggie then my aunty finally finished netball and we had to go now and I said bye to everyone. Then we went home and had lunch...

Life Caravan

Wow! I like going to the life caravan, because we learned about how smoking is really bad for you. We also learnt about making good choices.

On a nice hot Thursday we walked down to the life caravan. We met Lynn and Angela. When we got there we had to line up into lines of boys and girl’s and tallest to shortest. When we walked into the life caravan I saw lots of posters and lots of toys. We had to sit down into four rows.

Did you know that smoking can damage your lungs? In smokes there is lot’s of bad things like nicotine and chemicals and alcohol also has lot’s of nicotine inside it too. Smoking is not healthy and it can make you get lung canser, it can make your brain not think and go slow. THE END

Cross Country

I was waiting nervously at the start line. I felt scared and my heart was pounding. On Friday the 17th of August the whole of Pt England school had cross country.

After lunch the time had come to do cross country. We all had to get ready in the changing rooms and then we walked to the netball courts. Everyone was sitting on the ground. It was really sunny but it was also muddy on the field. We had to run 3 kilometres.

I was in Tainui and the house captains were Selena and Toko. Soon the eleven year old girls had to walk to the start line. My heart started to pound really fast and all I could see was everyone cheering. I saw lot’s of people in different colour clothes. Mr Burt said “on your marks, get set...go!”

We started on the first kilometre. As I was running towards the gate near the big park my shoes were getting muddy. I stopped where Mrs Rapold had stood. She told me to “keep going” but I could’nt do it any more. My shoes got stuck in the the yucky mud. When ever I run the mud would always splash all over my legs.

When I was running towards Mr S and Mr Marks, MaryI and Alexandria ran past me. I saw lot’s of Telecom helpers and when ever I went past one they always said “you’re doing a great job”. I was so happy that they said that.

I was nearly to the finish line, but the finshe line was all the way at the top field where everyone was. I saw Mrs Lagitupu and Miss King standing next to the gate. As I was getting close I saw lot’s of people at the back of me and I stopped to see who it was but I didn’t see any thing.

YAY! I finally past the finish line and everyone staired at me as I past it.....

Visiting my aunty

My aunty Josephine came back from Wellington and my mum said “do you want to go and see your aunty” and I said “yes.” So I got ready and hopped into the car and we went to my nana’s sister’s house. Me and my mum went inside and she came running out of the house and she cuddled us more than once. We sat outside on the chairs and talked about what is she going to do well she’s in Auckland and she said “I’m just going to do shopping here to take back to Wellington.

I was waiting inside and then my aunty asked if I wanna go shopping with well my mum goes pick up my uncle from his work and I said “yes.” She said “we are going to Pamure,” we went there to pay for her flight back to Wellington. We walked into the fight store and we sat down, I was looking at the news paper and she was doing her thing with the lady that was sitting in the chair.

We were finally finished and we went to the shop to get a drink and then we walked back home. When we got there every one was looking at us and I said “what is going on here” and they said “we are having a saprise party for Josephine.” But my aunty Josephine didn’t here because she was inside pulling her a drink in the class.

I went inside and helped her do the dishes, I dryed and she washed. after doing the dishes it was 5:30 and my mum came back and I said “bye see you tomorrow” and she said “ok bye.”
I woke up and my uncle was there waiting for me to get up so we can go to the saprise party, I got ready and we left my mum was going to come later. She was gone to the shopping for clothes, we put the table outside and we went and hide from her.

We heard her coming in and we jumped up and said “SAPRISE” she was so excited she even cried she didn’t want to go back. We all had a feed and we all said “bye” and we left to go home, it was the best time having fun with my aunty Josephine............

My holidays

Math Whizz

Math Whizz is really cool to be on. I have been on math whizz for over 2 or 3 years and I love being on it, I sometimes go on every day and sometimes I don't go at all but only when our teacher says. My weekly usage is 1 hour and 6 minutes, I enjoy going on Math whizz because you can play lot's of game and you can also learn maths.

Fitness Log

Pacific Ocean

My special place is in Tonga because I love the clear water and how you can see fishes while you’re swimming. I like it there because we jump off the rocks.  I choose this special place because it is just a great place and it is really special to me. My family and I went there for 3 weeks for Christmas and had a lovely holiday. Tonga reminds me of swimming and having fun with my family. My dad’s mum is living in Tonga and her village is called Nuku Nuku. I went there to visit her and my aunty’s name is also Senolita. The photo was taken in Tonga on the beach when it was sun set.

The artist that I have chosen to base my artwork on is Daniella Hulme. She is a really famous artist for being quite modern. I tried to make my art colourful, but the  colours that I mostly used was green and yellow. I painted a girl in front of a beach and bushes.

Weekend

On Friday after school my auntie and her 3 kids came over my house. I was so excited because I missed them so much, I missed them because I did’nt see them last week on Friday. Before we went back home we went to the shops, after that we walked home and I was asking my cousins what they been doing on the weekends well they were at their uncle and auntie. They said “we went with our nan to my uncle and auntie’s house” I thought that was cool because they get lot’s of things from them.

When we got home I ran to my auntie and hugged her because I missed her and she missed me back. I wanted to go pools on Saturday but we could’nt I don’t know why but we just could’nt, the next day I woke up and it was a nice day and I asked my mum “can we go to the pools please” she said “we will see.” So we waited and waited till they said something but we fell asleep because it was 3:00.

It was Saturday I woke up at 6:00 and I said to myself “ohh my gosh, I can’t believe I woke up at this time.” I was waiting for something to happen and something did my mum said “I’m going to make a cake” and I said to her “I will help you mum” but she said “it is alright” so I just keeped watching TV with my cousins. We did nothing on the weekends we just stayed home all week but we didn’t care because we can play with our cousins.

I did’nt know what to do at home I thought it was kind of boring hanging out with my cousins because they were doing nothing at all. I watched Mobbed from Friday because it is on all Fridays and I watch it all the time. Mobbed means that someone needs to say sorry they do a Flash Mobbed were everyone dances in front of the person. Then finally it was night and we had to go bed............ THE END

Static Image

A Static image stays still and it doesn’t do any movement.
This is a static image and I chose this flower. The light on this photo is not interesting but it is really clear. I like the leaves on the background and the colour on the flower. I picked this flower because I like it and it reminds me of my nans garden. It is a close up photo because you can see details on the flower. The colour on this flower is pink and I think the pink goes with the green at the background, I think it goes together because dark colours go with light colours and that makes it interesting. Yellow goes with all different colours as well but that is why I choose this as my static image.....

Food Tech

Last week the year 7s went down to Tamaki collage to have tech, I was in food tech. We had to line up in front of Mrs Hieka our teacher. After we came in we had to wash our hands and put on an apron. We also had to put the things that were in our hands away in a cabby hole, then she told us the rules. I was really excited because I love baking. I always bake with my mum. First we had to find a bench in the kitchen. Mrs Heka wanted to write our names on a peace of paper so she knows our name by heart.


Mrs Heka told us to get into groups of 3 or four and sort out who is going to wash, dry and pack away the dishes. The person who is washing had to get the trolley that had eqiupments on it, I decied to be a washer and Caroline my partner decied to be a dryer and pack away. So I went up and got a trolley on the it had bowls, measuring cups and other things that we were going to need. Then Mrs Heka put what we are going to use on the white screen, she said “If you are the washer you would need to get out all the measuring bowls, measuring cups and also the wooden spoon.


The dryer had to get out the white chopping board and the purple sharp knife, after getting our eqiupments out. Mrs Heka put all the ingredients up and I had to get one measuring cup out and the medium bowll I had to put Plan flower and Self raising flower. In the measuring cup I put in oil and took it all back to my kitchen. Then Mrs Heka told all the kids that were drying to go and get the tray for our cookies.
Caroline was the washer so she had to go and get it after that we had to put baking paper on top of the tray so the cookies don’t stick to it. After that Mrs Heka said “can all the pack awayers crack the egg into the medium measuring bowl” Caroline cracked the egg and put it in the bowl after 2 minutes of mixing it all the dough was very stickyand it wasn’t supposed to look like that. Caroline put her hand up to tell Mrs Heka and Mrs Heka came to us and told us what is wrong She said “you forgot something put in self raising flower” and then I said “oh yes”.
Then Mrs Heka put in plan flower and we started mixing again and it finally worked, Caroline and I were the last ones to put our cookies in the oven. When every one was cleaning there mess we were rolling out our cookies onto the tray and when we were finished we gave them to Mrs heka then she put them in the oven. Caroline and I cleaned our mess. And by about half an hour Mrs Heka said “come and get your cookies with two oven clove’s.” I got me and Caroline’s cookies out of the oven and then I walked and took our cookies back to our kitchen. After that
Caroline got a spachelor and then got our cookies off the tray into the bag to take back to school and eat. We all said “BYE” to Mrs Heka but we are going back to food tech next week.

AFL

Last week was my first time going to Kiwikick. After lunch we packed up and got ready to go. When we walked over I saw that there were cones and balls set out for us. This man who’s name was Sam, came up to us and told us to sit down and listen. Well obviously he had to introduce himself first and then we got started.

Samwhich which was his nickname told us to get in fours, so we all got up and got into groups. My group was Caroline, Mary I, Shoal, Brooklyn and I, we had five people in my group because there were lot’s of people here on Thursday. After that Samwich told us that we are going to play a game of cat and mouse Sam told us the instruction how to play, then we were off.

So we got into a circle and Brooklyn was the cat and Shoal was the mouse we had to make sure that the cat doesn’t get to the mouse. When we finished warming up we came and sat down on the ground again and then he told us to get into two’s and my partner was MaryI. Then we waited till everyone was ready and then my partner went and got our ball and started passing.

My partner and I keeped dropping the ball on the ground, and I went to go catch the ball and then the ball hit my finger and it was so sore I nearly cried. But luckly I did’nt because I would of made a full out of me. I was looking at everyone play and it looked fun so I just got over the soreness and started passing again but it was really painful.

After doing all that, we played a game called octopus but we had to hit the ball as if we were scooping an ice cream. The first round I didn’t get out but on the secound round I did because Samwich got me on the back. I had to get a ball and hop in the middle and try and get someone but I got no one. I thought it was hard trying to get people because I’m not use to passing a ball like that.

We had our last game of octopus and I did’nt get out on any of the rounds I kept on waiting for the teachers and some of the kids to drop the ball then I ran. Then Samwich told us “time to go back to class because it is nearly home time” so the people with the balls had to put them away and line up. We said our byes and thank yous then headed off back to class.

Over all I felt very happy knowing some more skills about AFL and the way aussies play. I can’t wait for next week. If we play octopus again I will try to stay out of the way and be the last one standing.

Picasso & Daniella

Room 21 was asked to write about two famous artists called Picasso and Daniella Hulmes. Picasso’s style of art is Cubism, and Daniella style of art is quite modern. Daniella is famous for drawing pacific island themes with bright colours.

We had to look at ‘The Weeping Woman’ first, done by Picasso. He would always draw weird kind of faces but at the same time it looks amazing. He draws human faces but he would change things around on the face.

Daniella Hulme likes drawing island patterns because her husband is Samoan. 'A lazy Day in Paradise' Daniella would draw a lady holding a basket of fruit or with kids at the back ground. Hulmes always puts the woman’s hair on the right side of the body and her hair covers that woman’s eye. Daniella is always colorful and distinctive too. Daniella uses bright colors in her art, she also makes her people look real.

Daniella’s artwork has bright colors like yellow, pink and bright green but she also used dark colors like really dark blue. Picasso uses weird kind of colors in his artwork, like a different kind of dark green. The similarities between Daniella Hulmes and Picasso is their art is about people.

My final thought is I learnt that Daniella Hulme is a Modern Artist and she draws island themes because her husband is a Samoan as well. What I learnt about Picasso is

Senolita Van Gogh and Matisse

Room 21 was told to look at these 2 famous artist which was Van Gogh and Henri Matisse. Henri Matisse was famous for Fauvism and Van Goghs style of art is Expressionism . Vincent Van Gogh chopped off his ear and sent it to his girlfriend. It sounds really painful.

I was looking at Van Gogh's Sunflower and I saw in his art that he has been uses bright colors and vibrant colors like yellow, green, orange, to brown and some other colors kind of like Henri Matisse.

I also looked at Henri Matisse's art work which was La Musique on his art I saw him use vibrant colors and dark too. I saw a lady singing songs and playing the guitar. In the background there were leaves behind the lady that was singing. I can see that he used lot of vibrant colors.

Van Gogh and Henri Matisse uses the same kind of colors like yellow and brown.

I really enjoyed looking at La Musique because it was really interesting and I can understand it too. I can I tell that she is singing because she has a book on the floor so she can get the music for the guitar.

Room 18
The next day of rotation we were going to Mr Barks class to learn about Picasso. We walked to his class and he told us to find a sit, when we sat down he told some helpers to help him hand out paper.
I was so excited to get started on my art because I tried it in room 16 last year, I thought It was’nt hard at all.

We had a white peace of paper in front of me, Mr Barks put up a video on the board of a guy drawing like Picasso. Picasso was the type of man that like putting eyes different ways, bodys are funny and also different kind of faces. Mr Barks said “watch this video then we can draw” so we watched it.

We had to watch the video because we had to learn how Picasso draw and paint, when I looked at it I thought it was hard but when I drawed it, it was really eazy. The first thing we had to draw was a ovel but I could’nt draw it because it was kind of hard. We had to look at the video carefuly so we know what to do, I will always look at the photo but sometimes it goes fast.

The last thing I had to do before we went back to class to pack up and go home. Was to do the out line, then the bell to go home. So we walked to class and packed up and went home

ROOM 21

Room 22

Last week we did immersion rotations, that means we got to go different classes and do art. First we left to go to Mrs Nua’s class to learn about Van Gogh. Room 21 had to disign a flower, but we had to look at it properly and draw more information inside the flower.

So Mrs Nua gave out the papers to all of us, I was so excited because it looked very eazy but when we got started on the art it started to get hard then harder. When Mrs Nua came around and looked at our work I asked her “Mrs Nua can you please help me” and she said “shore what do you need help with” so I showed her and then she told me what to do. We leanrt that Van Gogh believed that colours had helling powers.

I did what Mrs Nua told me what to draw, after that I finally finished my drawing then Mrs Nua called us to talk about how to paint like Van Gogh. Then Mrs Nua said “Van Gogh chopped off his ear and sent it to his girlfriend.” Then we were allowed to paint and then I was very excited because I love painting.

I tried to make orange but it was not working with me, I said to Mary I “can you help me do the colour orange please” and she said “shore” so we got the red only because I already had yellow from Mrs Nua and put the paint on the palet. I really liked that Van Gogh put more details in his flower so we can see that he is trying to make it more intresting. Then it was time to go back to class because it was the end of the day..... IT WAS AWESOME.......

Pools

One nice hot Thursday me and my 2 cousins, Jamie and Miea went to the pools. I was so excited that I got to go somewhere because I didn't get to go anywhere for the first week of our school holidays. But before I went I had to get ready and get my lunch ready too, as soon as my uncle got here I put all my stuff in my school bag, he said to me "hop in the car and we'll go" so I ran in the car and my cousins were already in the car, and we were just talking before we left.

When we left we had a 5 minute drive and then finally we got there and I hoped out and it was so packed with heaps 0f people, people were walking everywhere I looked. My cousins and I went to the changing room while my uncle went straight to the pools. I walked inside the pool area after getting into my togs. There were 2 pools one warm pool and cold pool, me and Miea hoped in the warm pool and it was so little it went up to my hips. But finally Jamie Lee hoped in because she stayed out for like 10 minutes.

I was telling Miea and Jamie to come and have races in the pool. So we had a race and I came second, Miea came first and finally Jamie came third. I tried to come first but Miea would always come first so I got really angry. Then finally we hoped out and had our lunch but when we had lunch Jamie my cousin went and had a shower and then she came and had lunch with us.

We waited 20 minutes before we hoped back into the pool. I was finished having my lunch so I jumped back in. I wanted to go out and have a shower before we left. So I walked to the shower area and I saw my auntie and uncle come out of the shower and they said "hi" and so I walked away. Then I finished with the shower and then I walked out and my other uncle called Henari was gone but when I looked around he was at the park with my 2 cousin's.

So I ran all the way to the park to play with all of them I stepped through the gate and all these little kids were running around and I felt like I was going to fall over well walking around. I went to this thing it was a swig but it was a different kind of swig.

We were playing and then my uncle drove the car the park gate. My cousin Miea said "don't look at him so we can't go" then I started to laugh. Then my other cousin Jamie said to us "you guys have come because were going now." THE END

Swimarama

On the last day of camp we got to go to Swimarama and swim. I was so excited, as we were getting ready to go to Swimarama the teachers said "when your finish getting your packed bag than meet us back in the Street." I went to my tent to pack my bag to take it to the Street well we were swimming. We had to wait for the other bus for like 10 or 20 minute and then we finally go in the bus and we got there and the first group that came on the 1st 2nd bus were already swimming.

Miss Nua told us to" come and sit down on the grass before you go in the water" so we sat down and she told us the rules. Then we got to jump in the water and swim we were all swimming around and then the Warriors came to swimarama. Then Manu Vatuvi jumped in the water and we all cheered. There were lots of cameras taking photos videoing the Warriors swimming. I tried to get in front of the video camera it was really cool when I saw them.

Camp Concert

I was very nervous because I haven’t danced in front of so many people before. On Tuesday the 13th of March the Year 7s and 8s got ready to go to the camp concert.

First we had to go in our tents and put on our clothes. After that we (Respect Crew) walked to the e-learning room to learn our dance. Did you know that we only learnt our dance on the night that the concert was on? The boys were at the front and some of the girls were in the middle. Some were at the back with some other boys.

Our first song was ‘STOP, DROP AND ROLL’. We all folded our hands and started to go side to side. Then our second song was ‘HEY BABY’ and I said to Ms V “do we have to do this song?” and she said “yes.”

After doing our dance Ms V told us to come in the hall. So we walked to the hall and I was really nervous and I started getting hot at the same time. When walked to sit down, all the groups were already there.

Then Mr Barks gave some of the prizes and then he called up the first group and it was Team Respect. We all cheered for them while they were walking up on the stage.
All of them went to the back exciped Chante and these two other girl. They started singing I thought Chante had a lovely voice after they stopped singing one person came out and the boys were acting like the girls.

Then that was the end of the performent and then we all start shouting at them. After that Mr Barks called out some prizes for skating after 2, 3 or 4 we finally got to know who came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.


Then Mr Barks said “in 6th place Respect Squad” and then there group we yelling saying “YAH” and then “In 5th place is Respectables” they shouted to. In 4th place Team Respect and in 3rd place was Respectors. Then Mr Barks said “in 1st place is RESPECT CREW” and that was my group we all shouted out loud and in 2nd place was Respectronics.

The Respect Crew had to stay behide and get their chocolate......

Today was the day when Team 4 and 5 went to go see Dr Ben Carson. I was so excited to see him because he was so famous that he was a neurosurgery. That means he did surgery on the people’s brain and he succeed through the whole surgery.

When we got there we waited for someone to come up on stage but a song came on called the Duffy song and we started singing. Before Dr Ben Carson came on the stage this man called Henry walked on the stage instead. Then he said “hey” in a little baby voice and we started to laugh hard out. After that he shouted out “Ki Ora” and then everyone said “Ki ORA” back.

After he said “Ki Ora” he told us all these funny things. But all I wanted was to see Dr Ben Carson so much. Then Henry called up Dr Ben Carson and we all started to cheer and some people were yelling out, even me. Dr Ben Carson came on the stage and he told us about himself and his mother. Ben Carson told us to be nice to each other and told us “when you get home you can tell your mum and dad that you are so great to have a lovely mother and father that they always have your dinner ready all the time.”

He said to us “ do you know the words THINK BIG” mean, and we said “NO”. Then he told us T is for Talent, H is Honest, I is Insight, N is Nice, K is Knowledge, B is Books, I is In-depth Learning and G is God. I thought that was really nice.
After he started to speak really fast I didn’t even know what he was saying and then he stopped and he was even puffing out. He did this to show us how amazing our brain is.

Henry came back on the stage and then he told us to “stand up and sing the song” so we did. Then the Duffy song came on again while the schools were going out of the theater. I learnt all about Dr Ben Carson and I thought he was cool. All of the schools were walking towards the door, but before that we got to have an Up and Go drink and an apple each.

Pt England school walked to our buses and we went back to have lunch. I said to my friends “I HAD A GREAT DAY.”
