Camp Highlights

The Year 8s went to Rotorua for a week for camp, the place we went was called Kewick. We did lot’s of things there but mostly walking through brushes and trees. Besides all the walking through bushes I reakon it was an amazing camp.

We went to the luge and it was so cool. we had to get into groups to go in the skyline I was with Turuhira, Kan, Jesiah, Mr Chong Nee and Hare. The skyline took us very high. Hare was so funny she thought we were going to fall she covered her eyes and everyone was laughing.

There was a shop called the Jelly Belly it was full of yummy jelly Beans. t was so cool seeing all the colourful lollies. there was even jelly Beans art work and you could eat the jelly beans . It was an amazing camp in 2013 I hope the year 8s next year have a awesome camp too.

Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela is (94 years old), he was the first black man to become the president of South Africa. Mandela was born on 18 July 1918 in the village called Mvezo in Umtatu, Nelson Mandela was the person who stopped the racist people around the world. He has 6 kids and is married to Evelyn Mase the got married on the 5 October 1944.

Mandela claimed that he lost his "stuck up" attitude, becoming best friends with a girl for the first time. Nelson Mandela started playing sports and developed his lifelong gardening.
Nelson Mandela was a man who stopped racism for all the people around the world. The main points about Nelson is how he changed the world for everyone to make it a better place. He even had to spend 27 years in prison just because people believed in him that he could change everything. The white people knew that whatever Nelson planned to do they knew that a lot of people would believe in him so that's why they put him in prison.
Nelson's father died when he was a child and during his years without his father he became a ward of Jongintaba at the great place in Mqhekezweni. He was the first in his family to attend a school and it was while there that the young Rolihlahla was given the name Nelson.

Nelson Mandela was a civil rights leader in South Africa. He fought against apartheid, a system where non-white citizens were segregated from whites and did not have equal rights. He served a good portion of his life in prison for his protests, but became a symbol for his people. Later he would become president of South Africa.
Nelson Mandela died on Thursday at the age of 95. The former President of South Africa left an indelible mark on both his country and the world, becoming an international symbol of the fight against injustice and human rights abuses. He will be remembered in our hearts forever and ever because he was a man that not only cared about his family but also the whole entire world.

Reflection 2013

What special thing have you learnt from your teacher this year?

The thing that I have learnt from my teacher this year was having a girl teacher because I haven't had one for ages, also because she has made me a better person during the years have gone by because she knows the things that has happened in my life and she helps me to keep going forward.

What significant thing have you learnt all by yourself?

This year has been an amazing year for me becuse I learnt many things from many people.

I have new classmates and a amazing new teacher and her name is Miss King she has taught me alot about Scratch, you can draw and make games on the website. I have learnt from a very speacial person that I have to trust myself and he said I can do anything in life.

At home I have internet so I can go online websites. Like youtube and online games, we can edit pictures on this webdite called pixlr and pizap. Internet is very cool to use, so I think everyone should have internet and netbooks.
